It is not possible to extend your current leave. If you wish to remain in the UK you would have to switch. There are many different categories available but your eligibility would depend on your circumstances. Asking for suggestions from people who don't know your exact circumstances will have only limited success.

Thanks Lucapooka for your response.
Perhaps if i shed more light to my present circumstance you may be able to tell me the best option of visa that i am eligible to apply.
I came in to UK with a student visa in 2009. I applied for PSW after my study with would be valid till Dec 2012. I got married to non-British citizen and I recently gave birth a son here. I have a fixed term employment, my workplace advised to renew my visa by myself. what category of visa can I apply?

What is the immigration status of your partner and her child? Do you have any plans to start your own business, do you have access to 50K?

You keep referring to extending your PSW leave but there is no prospect of an extension. What you are intending is a switch from your current immigration status into another category. This is possible if you meet the requirements.

thank, that is not a bad idea if only the found is available. but there is 1 think i will like you to explain to me. will the £50,000 be applicable to someone trying to apply from outside the Uk i.e (Nigeria), or there is a higher amount to meet if one is trying to apply from outside UK? please help to explain on this. i am asking this questions because i have family and friends who may be interested in this route. thanks

Applying for Tier 1 (Ent) at the 50K threshold is limited to holders of PSW leave who apply from inside the UK. If you wish to apply from outside the UK, the capital sum required is 200K. However, if you have access to 50K from an approved venture capital firm, the amount can be 50K. It's going to be very unlikely that you will have access to 50K from such a source.
