Business Visitor with a company in UK?

Post by lostimmigrant » Sat Oct 27, 2012 8:26 am

Hi Everyone,
Received lot of help in recent years whenever I applied for a visa but this time couldn't find anything on site or Google.

The question is case specific,
I went to England in 2007 on student visa which was later converted to PSW in 2008 and tier1 (general) in 2010.
I was on Tier1 points based system in UK and moved the base back to Pakistan in February 2011 while I still had my tier1 leave to remain valid until July 2012.
I founded my Ltd. company in 2009 while I was in London and I was doing software development contracting through that.
In feb 2011, I opened another company in Pakistan which is actually serving as a development house for my UK based company.
Now my Tier1 is expired and I never applied for extension as it was too expensive, secondly I only need a visa to visit 3, 4 times a year or whenever I need to meet someone in UK.

I have Director's Report of my UK ltd. company from past 3 years.
I have annual tax return of my Pakistani company.
I have bank statements from my both UK and Pakistani business bank accounts.
I have rental agreement for my Pakistani office which is in a Software Technology Park.
I have personal bank statement which is of joint account with my father and it has nearly £2800 in it from last 6 months.

I am thinking to apply for a business visitor multiple entry for 2 years. However, it requires me to furnish an invitation letter from some business in UK and show my correspondence record.

I can get the letter and correspondence record as I have had several dealings with UK businesses as part of my day to day work in the capacity of being a director for both companies but I just want to show that I have a UK company and I just want to go and take care of it.

I pay to an accountant on monthly basis and can get a letter from him.

My meetings would be B2B, I am not involved in selling directly to consumers but in software cases Businesses are consumers themselves? and main purpose will be to do dealings for the supply for software.

What would be the advise in this particular case if anyone had a similar chance before, should I go for business visit or just take a general visitor visa?

Thank you in advance

Business visit is appropriate if you intend to have contact with your business while in the UK. Otherwise apply for general visit. The scope of the documentation you have cited is not mandatory but it helps. As long as it's clear that you will not be working in the UK and intend to remain within the limits of the residence guidelines (which could be demonstrated by showing your general commitments to being in PK) you should be fine. It may be that you are not given a two year visa at first; that is a discretionary matter. It would be on the basis that you needed to make regular and repeat visits throughout the period, while limiting your stay to a cumulative total of 180 days per annual cycle. Do you need to come and go often? Can you show a need to come an go often?

Thanks for reply.

My intentions are obviously not to take residence over there, I can show additional documentation such as property documents and my marriage certificate to show my commitments in Pakistan.

I visited UK 3 times a year since leaving, I need to have an open visa because of the nature of my business, when it comes like a client wants to have a meeting, I can not delay it for 15, 20 days in order to apply and get visa.

Will the fact doesn't help that:
I have a UK master degree.
Then I was doing business in same field.
Then I voluntarily left UK residency status because I moved my base.
Now I want a visa to do business in the same software dev field.
I also have a certificate of registration from Pakistan Software Export Board.

Depending on the situation above and given the requirement of an invitation letter from a UK business and correspondence record, should I just write this whole story and send it or should I get a letter from my accountant and try with that?
