ILR- Start of residence qualifying time

Post by SONAKSHI » Sun Oct 28, 2012 1:10 am

I was staying in the UK on a dependent Visa. I got my HSMP approval whilst in the UK and went on vacation to my native country where the HSMP sticker was stamped on my Passport. The HSMP sticker was stamped on my passport on 7th January 2008 however I returned to the UK on 13th on January 2008. When does my qualifying time start, from 7th of January or the 13th of January. I can apply 28 before the competion of the 5 years. So should the date be 10th of December 2012 or the 16th of December. Secondly I have been away from the UK for 189 days in the past five years either on paid leave or on company business. Do I need a letter from my employer explaining my absences.
