Can Business Bank Account be used to prove fund maintenance?

Post by ughosal » Sun Oct 28, 2012 3:53 pm

Hi,

A quick help would be much appreciated.

1. I am on Tier 1 General visa and nearing completion of 5 years continuous stay. My wife has a Tier 1 General dependent visa. Now I wish to apply for my newborn baby's (who was born in India) Tier 1 general dependent visa. How much fund should I have maintained over last 90 days? Is it £600 for just the child? Or is it £600 for child + £600 for wife + £900 for myself (=£2100)?

2. My personal bank balance went down to £1000 in July-Aug, which won't help if I need to prove maintenance of £2100. However I had funds available to withdraw as dividends in my Business Bank Account. Please can anyone advise whether UKBA would accept business bank account funds for this purpose and what documents do I need to provide with the application?

Any other good advice?

My daughter's application has been rejected once so I need to make sure that I do the right thing next time.

Thanks.

2. No.
Thanks Susdmehta. The first response provides a glimmer of hope. However there still is a confusion as it arises from the PBS dependent's policy guidance notes # 46, 47 ...

"
....
....
46. If the same Tier 1 Migrant and his family had been present in the UK for two years, they would
require evidence that they held £2700 (£600 x 3 = £1800 + £900) in available funds.
47. If a family member applies separately from the Tier 1 Migrant, there must still be enough funds
to support each member of the family. Therefore in the example above, if the family has a third
child, the main applicant has been in the United Kingdom for two years and the family applies
for leave to remain for the third child separately, they must provide evidence that they have an
additional £600 in available funds."

The word 'additional' in context of the example given in #46 is causing stress.

Please advise.

Thanks again.
