Salary requirement- backpay?

At the moment with one salary I'm not quite hitting the magic £18600 target, but I'm doing a bit of extra work on the side to build up the income.

The thing is, I won't get paid monthly for this- it hasn't been arranged, but it might be quarterly.

Would this matter? I assume as long as I have 6 months of earning £18600 then it's OK?

How often you are paid - weekly, monthly, quarterly - is irrelevant as long as you meet the specified requirements and provide the specified documentary evidences.

I also have another question if someone could help- getting a bit confused with the amount of information out there.

I've been earning £17,000 in my job (which I get paid monthly), and I do some extra work in a family member's company (which I get paid quarterly) which tops me up over the 18.6k threshold.

1) Can I apply after 6 months for a spouse visa?
2) Is this combination of monthly and quarterly pay OK?

Grateful if anyone can help further...
