Tier 2 General Visa - Eligbility

Post by thinkingagain » Mon Oct 29, 2012 8:48 pm

Hello Manci,

I am eligible for ILR around July 2013.

Currently i am in Tier 2 ICT and planning to convert to Tier 2 General.

My current Tier 2 ICT is expiring in mid of Jan 2013.

i am planning to get the COS for Tier 2 General through a sponsorer and then go back to my home location to serve my notice period.

This means i will apply for Visa in my native country and might get my Tier 2 General Visa post the expiry of my current Tier 2 ICT Visa.

I am intending to return back to UK within 90 days period.

Will the gap between the expiry of Tier 2 ICT and the new Tier 2 General visa impact my ILR period?

Thanks.

I am not 100% sure, but it could be that waiting for the old visa to expire would start the 12 month cooling off period. Additionally, your sponsor would need to apply for a restricted CoS. But please seek more expert advice....
