Visitor Visa to UK for my parents

Post by ringer » Tue Oct 30, 2012 1:53 am

Hello Everyone, I m an Australian working in China, my parents r due to come to China in January next year and i wanna take them to UK to have a short 10 days holiday,
They r applying their visa in India and i will b sending air and hotel booking to support their application,
My queries r as follows:
1. Do they need to have China visit visa first before they apply to visit the UK?as this is where they would b coming back after their UK visit,
2.Can i send my bank balance certificate from Australia to support their visa application?
3.I have substantial funds in Australia in my bank but don't have any salary inflow to show in that bank statement, will this statement still b enough to satisfy UKBA abt the financial requirements to get the visa for my parents?

Please advise.

Are your parents also Australian? If so, they don't need a visa to travel to the UK as visitors. They apply for entry on arrival in the UK.

Next year i m taking my India based (Indian passport holders) parents to visit UK through flights from and to China,

my query is that can i apply for my parents visa to the UK NOW first(before i apply for their visitor visa to China) as i want to apply their China visa after i get my Chinese visa extension done around at the end of next month,

My concern is that UKBA office can ask that where is their China visa as they will b flying from China to the UK and also coming back to China from the UK.

Hope i have made myself clear,

Please advise.
Lucapooka wrote:Why would the UKBA ask for their Chinese visas as there will be nothing in their application that refers to China? Even if you do casually mention in a letter that they intend to visit China beforehand, it's not relevant to being granted EC for the UK. You can apply for a visit visa now and request a deferred start date of up to three months.

I m employed as Consultant in China with everything paid by my company here and i get my annual salary at the end of the year, so i have substantial balance in my Aus account but it has only got rental income proceeds(every month from my 2 houses),
my query is that if i want to support my parents visa application to the UK so can i submit my bank statements from Aus alongwith salary certificate from China?
