Name Change Before PIO Card - Indian Passport Holder

Post by mash007 » Tue Oct 30, 2012 10:22 am

Hi

I am a permanent resident in UK and in the process of applying for British Citizenship. I intend to change my name before applying for British Passport. What’s the best way to go about it? I am thinking of getting naturalisation done on my current name and then changing my name using Deed Poll Service just before applying for British Passport. Not quite sure if Indian Embassy approves that method and issues my PIO card in new name. Any suggestion/opinions please

Many Thanks

Hi ,

Is there any reason why you want change the name before applying for British Passport not while applying for Naturalisation? I am also planning to change my son's name and looking for a best way to go about it.
