Applying for ILR

Post by shellm » Wed Oct 31, 2012 2:30 pm

My spouse is British citizen. I came to UK in Dec 2005 on dependent visa. In May 2008 I changd my visa to then work permit visa. In May 2011 I changed my visa status to dependent visa (my spouse being British national). In Dec 2012, I will complete 6 yrs in UK. Can I apply for ILR now or can I only apply 28 days prior to when my current visit is ending, which is in April 2013. Thanks

Assuming you have leave to remain as spouse of a settled person / British citizen, yes.

You can apply no earlier than 28 days before the expiry of your current leave and, ideally, no later than the expiry date.
