Minor Traffic Offences -- How many are too many?

Post by Teban » Wed Oct 31, 2012 10:00 pm

Hi all,

I understand from the AN guide that it is recommended to wait another year if in the last 12 months there have been more than 2 minor traffic offences.

I had a speeding (I opted for the course) and two parking tickets in the last 12 months.

I have been on the UK since 2005 with a work permit until I got my ILR in 2010. Everything else is in order, working for the same employer all these years and keeping 'out of trouble'.

Can you please share your experiences regarding the above. Do you know the result of anyone who applied in a similar situation?

Thanks!!

If you got the speed awareness course, you didn't get any points. You don't even have an FPN - as the course is an alternative to the fixed penalty notice (FPN) system, technically not a part of of it. Parking charge notices (PCNs) count for nothing, anyway - you don't need to mention them. I don't see any issues for naturalisation. Just make sure that everything is paid and settled before you apply. See also this thread.

Thanks for that clarification. So because I opted for the course then there is no FPN recorded.
I also realised that I had a bus lane PCN. Which in summary means that I have no FPN and a few PCN's, and they are all paid more than 3 months ago, so there shouldn't be any problems
Thanks again
