PSW to Tier 2 General COS allocation details - Please Help

Post by Kalyan2305 » Fri Nov 02, 2012 4:28 pm

Hi,

Before posting my query, I went through many posts to find the solution for my problem as I was not willing to duplicate the existing threads and waste the precious time of other people.
I am extremely sorry if my query has already been posted through.

My Situation -

I am switching from Tier 1 PSW to Tier 2 General and my company has got a sponsorship license.
While in the process of allocating the unrestricted COS, we got stuck with the below questions -

1. " Is the job on the current shortage occupation list ? "
" Have you met the resident labour market test ? "

As I am switching from PSW, I know the above questions are not relevant to me.
But the problem is both the questions have just one single empty radio button to be selected rather than YES or NO options and both the questions are mandatory.
Also the next question is to provide the details of RLMT which is mandatory as well.
Please suggest me how I need to go ahead with these ?

2. The Start and End dates - I read many posts asking about these dates. I am extremely sorry for asking again.
This is just for my conformation.
From what I understood after reading through -
Start Date - should be some date in future and before my current leave expires.
End Date - can be any date for 3 years from Start date (3 years is the maximum period I can get in Tier 2 General Visa. Isn't it?)
Please correct me if I am wrong.

3. My current salary is less than the specified requirement according to the SOC code.
But my company is happy to increase my salary to meet the requirements.
As there is no need to provide any payslips as evidence, it should be ok if I am paid my new increased salary from the time my Tier 2 General visa is granted. Isn't it?
Please shed me some light on this.

Thanks a lot again for all your help and time.
I appreciate it a lot and my sincere apologies for having to go through such a long post.

Thanks a lot in Advance.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary If it is not explained there call the employer helpline 0300 123 4699

2. The Start and End dates - I read many posts asking about these dates. I am extremely sorry for asking again.
This is just for my conformation.
From what I understood after reading through -
Start Date - should be some date in future and before my current leave expires. correct but must be within 3 months of the date of assignment
End Date - can be any date for 3 years from Start date correct (3 years is the maximum period I can get in Tier 2 General Visa.

Isn't it? in the CoS the company certifies to UKBA what they will pay you in your employment as a T2 migrant commencing on the start date stated Please shed me some light on this.

Thanks a lot again for all your help and time.

Hi manci,

Thanks a lot for your reply. And sorry for my late reply.

I did see there was help link below every question. But that was not really helpful.

Will ask my HR to ring the employer helpline. Thanks for the number.

Thanks a lot for confirming my other questions as well.

This forum has indeed helped me a lot, right from the word go about my visa processing.

I hope and wish this good work and help continues :)

Cheers,

Kalyan.

Update to my query

Post by Kalyan2305 » Tue Nov 06, 2012 10:02 am

Hi all,

Just an update to "Question 1" in my query.

We called UKBA the other day and got to know from them that we need to specify in the space provided that I am switching from PSW to Tier 2 and are exempt from RLMT.

This is something everyone knows but there weren't any guidelines in Sponsor Management System saying the same.

So it was nice to get things clarified.

Cheers
so, and for the beneft of others, what to do about the radio buttons?
Sorry for not saying about this -

The system actually allows you to select only one of the following questions -

" Is the job on the current shortage occupation list ? "
" Have you met the resident labour market test ? "

So we had to select the radio button corresponding to -

" Have you met the resident labour market test ? " and specify my above said statement in the space provided for the details of RLMT.

Hope this is clear enough.

Cheers
