ILR - section 6 Immigration History

Post by moksh4me » Sat Nov 03, 2012 12:02 pm

Dear all,

I would be grateful if you could help me with my query below:

I entered UK on 20-12-2002 on a student Visa.
I got my work permit stamped in UK on 05-12-2007
I converted from work permit to General tier 1 on 06-06-2009
Extended my General Tier 1 visa in Feb 2012 and got visa's till 09-02-2014

I am eligilble for ILR application on 07-11-12 (28days before 05-12-2012)

In set (o) form section 6 - Immigration History point 6.1 asks
"when did you first enter UK? This refers to the date of your first entry into UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based"..............Would the answer be 20-12-2002 when I first entered as student or 05-12-2007 when my status got converted into work permit within UK itself.

6.2 asks "Since then have you had any absences from UK?" ..........would this be from the time I entered as a student or from the time I got converted into work permit.

Many Many thanks in anticipation.

Regards,
Hemal

Hi . As far as i know, you have to write the date you entered the UK with valid visa and you have to write all the absences from the UK since then but absences within the qualifying periods are taken into account while assessing the continuous lawful residency in the UK depending on the basis of the application made for ILR. Good luck with your application.

Many thanks for your reply.

Do I have to list the days outside UK on a separate spreadsheet? or on the form itself?

Would they know when exactly does my qualifying period start?

thanks
Hemal
