HCI JURISDICTION

Post by agopala » Sat Nov 03, 2012 11:09 pm

Hi,
I live in aberdeen, scotland and we have CGI edinburgh that normally does renewal for passports for scottish resident Indians. Unfortunately they take about 4 weeks or more. I plan to go to London HCI to get my passport renewed because I have to travel in the next few weeks to India. But there is something about jurisdiction of each counsulate. Can anyone please tell me if I can apply for passport renewal in London even if I live in Scotland. I would think that the high commission can renew passport for all Indians in UK. I am grateful for your reply.

Jurisdiction
There must be a reason for specific jurisdiction for each of the consulate. So, if you do not wish to be turned away in London, best that you get a confirmation from HCI London that they will accept your application despite the fact that you are not resident in their area of jurisdiction.
