Swiss Naturalisation

Post by picosam » Sun Nov 04, 2012 11:47 am

Dear all,

I'm getting PACSed to my French/Swiss (dual-citizenship) partner here in Paris. I'm wondering what I need to do during the next 6 years to obtain swiss nationality, and if this is possible.

We're NOT planning to move to Switzerland, but actually stay here in France.

Thank you in advance,
Sam

I believe the requirement to be able to apply for simplified naturalisation as a Swiss citizens requires marriage. Civil partnership is not recognised for this purpose.

See Foreign Spouse of a Swiss National Resident Abroad (Article 28)

Why not go for a French citizenship if you live in France?
