How long does it take to apply for Sponsorship licence?

Post by JS28 » Sun Nov 04, 2012 8:20 pm

Hi All,

I am currently on TIER 1 PSW visa which is due to finish in March 2013. I am currently working as a lecturer. My employer has applied for a sponsorship licence end of Sept 2012.

I am not sure whether they have coz I have not seen any evidence

My question is:
1.) Should I ask for proof that they have applied for it?
2.) How long does it take before employers get there sponsorship licence?

Thank you very much

1. You may, if you wish to. Whether they will be willing to "prove" something to you is an entirely different matter.
2. Employers wishing to be registered sponsors who applied in April / May are still waiting for their application to be decided upon.

Does it mean that mine wont come before that?

What would be my other option if the sponsorship licence doesn't come on time ? my visa runs out next March :(

No it doesn't. The essence of the statement was to make you aware of the current processing times.

To remain in the UK legally, one must apply for an application for remain. You are the best judge to determine your circumstances and ascertain if you qualify for an immigration category under which you can make a valid leave to remain application before your current leave expires.
