Commuting Allowance included in gross salary?

Post by Saga » Tue Nov 06, 2012 12:46 pm

Hi all,

The company has decide to pay commuting allowance each month (subject to tax and NI) because of change in location.

This will be showed separately on the pay slip.

Can this amount be included in the gross salary to get more points?

Thanks!

Is it still fine if no tax or NI is paid on it and it still comes up in gross salary?

Previously, you said it was being taxed as gross income.

As long as it's part of your remuneration, it will be acceptable. Suggest you read 101 of the policy guidance.
