Working in Isle of Man

Post by suresh.k.dasari » Tue Nov 06, 2012 5:23 pm

Hi

I have recently secured ILR and due for Naturalisation next year same time. Could someone please confirm the following :

1. If I work in Isle of Man for the next one year, will I still be eligible to apply for Naturalisation next year.
2. Do I require any other visa to work in Isle of Man

Regards

Technically, the Isle of Man is not part of the UK and has its own immigration laws and policies. However, the guide AN clearly specifies that one "must have been physically present in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands". Hence, your stay should qualify. The booklet states on page 10 that "if you are living in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, you should seek advice from the Immigration Office." - I would strongly recommend you do just that.

Leaflet BN7 should also be of interest to you, as it clarifies several important points (especially Note 4).
