time to apply for naturalization

Post by sanch_c » Tue Nov 06, 2012 6:04 pm

When one applies for ILR, one can apply 4 weeks before the qualifying period (say 5 years on HSMP/tier 1/work permit/tier2) is done. So, if one entered the country on 30 April 2007, one could apply for ILR from 2 April 2012.
Is there any such rule for naturalization? The normal thing is 1 year post ILR. But can one apply, similarly 4 weeks in advance to that as long as all other criteria are fulfilled (< 450 days in 5 years, < 90 days in last year, in the country 5 years ago, etc etc). So, if one got ILR on 15
April 2012, can one apply for naturalization from 18 Mar 2013?
