Advice Needed- Financial req

Post by Pamela2012 » Wed Nov 07, 2012 12:55 am

Helloo everybody,

I have a question in relation to the new spouse visa requirements!!

I was wondering... if you have a graduate loan from the bank to pay off a few small debts (credit cards etc) and you are paying the bank back in small monthly instalments that are taken out of your account BUT at the same time have a separate account where my salary gets paid and where I have the savings threshold that is required (earning around 17k)!!

When applying for the visa would they know you have a loan from the bank? The loan money has already been used to pay off debts etc so the savings are all my own money NOT A PENNY FROM THE LOAN MONEY. Would this be a problem?

I think it wouldn't since my savings do not include any money from the graduate loan money. Plus I would only be supplying statements for the account where my salary & savings are.

any help/advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Pam

Paying off debts and loans is perfectly acceptable, many people pay off loans and debts andmortages, which is why the income criteria was pushed up to 18k. So you have no issues on that front, however you do need to provide evidence of all your if you don't and they discover you have another account somehow, then you'll be in deep trouble. So as with everything, we advise you to tell the whole truth and provide evidence of the whole truth.

You have no stated what type of VISA you plan on applying for, so that we can give you a response as to regarding whether you meet other financial criteria.

Thanks for the reply!

The other account I use to pay off my debts (£150 per mnth) doesn't have any money in it- I jst put £150 in there each month to cover the loans thats all! Do I still need to give them statements from that account?? My other account has my salary & the required savings! Would they still find out if I provide statements only for the account that has my salary & savings in it? Would I need to tell them I have a loan from the bank or can they find that out from somewhere else? Thats my main concern?

Thanks,

Pamela

Your bank statements need to show that your salary has been going into the account... you do not have to declare any other accounts or loans or repayments.
