Can I live in India with no Visa?

Can I turn up there and live there (I have a place to stay a friends).

Is it possible to get a job and live or will I be tracked down and arrested?

How are you planning to pass the border control if you do not have valid travel document (Indian Visa or Indian passport) while entering India?

Why would you live in India with no visa where people having passports looking at ways to flee ?
