Tier 1 Dependent Visa or Passport for a child

Dear All,

I am new to this forum and this is my first question to you guys.

I am on Tier 1 (General) visa which expires on 13/03/2013 and I need to make my ILR application 28 days before that date.

My wife is my dependent.

I have two kids, first child was born outside UK and he is my dependent

My second child was born in UK and I have not yet applied Tier 1 dependent visa for him.

My question is do I need to apply Tier 1 dependent visa for my second child before my ILR? or he could apply for a British Passport once I get my ILR in Feb/Mar 2013?

Please can someone answer to my query?
