should i mention previous experience history?

I have previous work exp. couple of years back .
currently im showing the recent 12 months salary in present company.
should i mention anything abt my previous exp. in covering letter or not at all required?

unless the previous work experience lead to a qualification in some way- i would say no.

previous experience doesn't count towards points.
