Tier 1 General - Dependent Application Form

Post by vicky8319 » Tue Nov 13, 2012 5:27 pm

I got recently married.

I am now in India and wanted to process dependent visa for my Wife. I work in UK for a leading UK consultancy. As iam in India, I dont have my UK Bank statements now(i have funds in Barclays UK Bank). Speed mail will cost me 50 pounds, which i want to avoid unless and otherwise it is absolutely necessary.

But i also have funds in the Indian Bank. Can i show HDFC Bank (Indian Bank) statement to process Dependent Visa under Tier 1 General Migrant for FUND MAINTENANCE ?

Also my second question is

I now already have my marriage certificate with me (I am sure this is enough to process dependents visa).
Considering future requirements, I want to change my wife's passport with the following details - Surname and Address (to make sure my address on passport will match the address on her passport ?

Now after receiving a updated copy of my wife's passport, can i attach my marriage certificate as a proof of marriage ???? Why i ask this question is, after change of name in passport, initials will be different (i mean the last name will be my name in her passport while the Marriage certificate will have her father name or the initial as the first letter of her fathers name)

Let me know if somebody has any question on my question :)

That is absolutely fine....

You can show fund maintenance (in any bank present in any part of the world as long as it is regulated by the regulated and approved by the local countries Banking authority, in our case India, the banks are regulated by Reserve Bank of India) in the name of Main Applicant (Tier 1 General migrant) for himself or for any of his dependants (child or wife). Alternatively if iam right, the bank account may be a joint accont of the main applicant with the dependant or only the account of the dependant.

YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT AFTER CONVERSION OF LOCAL CURRENCY TO GBP, THE FUND MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENT OF APPROPRIATE FUNDS SHOULD NECESSARILY BE MET.

I think you are fine with this too.... Other boarders may advise you as applicable.
