It is not required anymore, however in exceptional circumstances the ECO may request this form to be signed by the Sponsor.
If you would like to avoid any such situation, you may as well fill this form and submit it with your application.
We have seen one instance of a refusal where the ECO has mentioned that the Sponsor did not provide the Sponsorship undertaking form when requested by the ECO. However the Sponsor is saying that he did not hear from the ECO regarding this in the first place and now appealing.
