HELP FOR EEA 2 APPLICATION WITH CODE 1A STAMP.

Post by mbanu » Sun Nov 18, 2012 7:38 am

Dear Friends,
I am so happy for all your advise on this forum. I got into the UK with my EEA partner working in the UK and was issued the Code 1A Stamp at the port of entry after some few mins. I would like to know what to do next to obtain a Residence Card. Could some one advise me on what to do.

Could you provide more details (for the benefit of other members) on where and how did you get the stamp Code 1A? Did the IO refer to your previous Family Permit refusal ?

Code 1a stamp

Post by mbanu » Mon Nov 19, 2012 7:47 am

My partner has been working in the UK for a quite some time now, considering the unfortunate situation that happened to me, she was so angry and sad about such a decision taken over my application. We knew bcus we have been talking to other embassies in Romanian and they told us that who do not need a visa if we travel together and that its the EU law. (Germany, France, Belgium etc...) After some time of closely reading articles from this forum, my partner decided to visit me and we decided to travel together. we got a flight from romania to london, in romanian they told us they only apply the EU law, and we had no much problems but had to prove with certain documents, we had both our passports and i had my family residence card, we got to the airport in london my partner did the talking, with proves just the same documents i used in applying for a eea family permit, the officer asked me if i had a problem before i said yes, my partner started explaining what exactly was writen in the letter i got. the officer took our documents and the landing card i had already filled and ask us to wait, we waited for some mins then the officer came again ask some few questions, work contract was giving along with house contract, the officer asked us to wait again. This time the officer came and a stamp was put on my passport filled with the pen. Now i would wish to apply for a residence in UK what should be my next step, and i also wanted to ask, does the entry stamp give me a right to work? I would be so happy should some one with more expirience could help me out.

It is good to hear the airlines let you board the flight. Most visa national would struggle at that point. The UK doesn't recognise other member state RC but I guess the airline was not aware of that (or very aware of the EU laws).

The stamp does allow you to work. I suggest you apply now for a 5 years Residence Card using form EEA2. See also here - EEA FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting - Residence Card.
