ILR SET (O) Missing Life in the UK Certificate

Post by mel1 » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:09 pm

Hi There,

I urgently need some advice. I had my ILR SET(O) Application returned to me last week as my credit card company declined the payment. As I had to apply within 28 days of my visa expiring, by the time I received the application back from the border agency my visa expired.

I have now booked an appointment for premium service this Wednesday, and am putting a new application together, and have realised that the Border Agency did not return my Original Life in the UK Certificate when they returned my application.

The letter i have received from them explaining why they returned my application states that they did return the certificate and it references the certificate ID number, however this was not physically there. I have a photocopy of this document and I also believe the pass notification has been sent electronically to the Border Agency.

My question is, should I still go to my appointment on Wednesday and explain the situation and risk having my application rejected on these grounds (which i believe would be incredibly unfair as they lost my certificate!) or should i delay my appointment, book another Life in the UK test and move my appointment back and therefore risk taking too long before re-applying after my original application was returned?

I would really appreciate some advice as to the best way to go forward.

Thank you,

Mel
