Leave to remain (already in the country)

Post by katsunley » Mon Nov 19, 2012 7:44 pm

Hello,
I am currently living in the u.k and have bin for the past 4 years, i have recently completed my degree. my british husband and I got married in august 2011 we have lived together for the past 4 years as we met whilst i was in the u.k under a different category.

My leave as a student expires on the 15th of January 2013 i have recently learned about the new changes made regarding spouses seeking leave to remain. I am not sure what will happen to us as we do not meet the requirements exactly. My husband is employed and has held down two different jobs in the past 12 months his income alone comes to 14,600 pounds. I have only just found employment after my degree amounting to 8,200 /year my concern is that i have not been employed by anyone for the past six months as the requirements state. however I do earn undeclared income as a face-painter and events decorator this is below the taxable threshold.

I also am a co-signer on a bank account with my mother with the sum of $88,000 us dollars and was wandering if this will be taken into consideration.

We have a home together and can prove that we have lived together for the above mentioned amount of time.

we would like some advice on the possible outcome of this situation and how to proceed .

thanks
