Tier 1 second extension - biometrics letter

Post by gm1 » Wed Nov 21, 2012 6:03 am

Hello,

I got Tier 1 General issued in 2009 outside UK and fingerprints were taken but no BRP card was there at that time.

I got my extension for first time in 2011 July and I got Biometrics letter for BRP card. I got my BRP card first time in July 2011 on first extension of Tier 1 General.

I applied for second extension a bit earlier due to personal reasons in Oct 2012. I got acknowledgement letter but no Biometrics letter till date.

my question is:
Do we get Biometrics letter in Second extension or we directly get an approval letter with an updated BRP card and new validity date on that new BRP card.

I mean - Do I need to wait for Biometrics letter from UKBA in Second extension application (single applicant / no dependents)?

Cheers,
GM

Yes, They do biometrics for Tier 1 extensions irrespective of first or second, I am not aware of any exceptions to this rule.
