Adding an tier to existing sponsorship license

Hi there,
My employer has got an sponsorship license for ICT and they wanted to sponsor me under Tier 2 general and they have applied for it with UKBA.
my question is do they treat this request same as other applications like new sponsor license?
Is there any time frame for processing this request?
they have sent application form with all documents including payments on 20/sep/2012 and we haven't heard anything yet.

Please help me guys with your thoughts

There is no big difference if you add another Tier to existing ones.The only difference would be they will process your application very quickly once it is allocated ,probably in week or two.

There was a massive backlog from April because of Olympics so they wasted like 3 months on April applications.Since then they have picked up good speed and currently they are processing application around end of June ,I reckon.

I think you will get your T2 License around first week of Feb or may be before that (based on numbers I get every day since last week ie. 40-50 licenses everyday).

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't - I get the impression that those visited are in the minority.

You will get in next two weeks. My employer had ICT and applied for General on 6th August and got the license last week

I am in very difficult situation my visa is going to expire in first week of Feb 2013 and still waiting for sponsorship license
then again its taking long time to allocate COS.

You are not in difficult situation at all.

You will license in this month. When licensed is approved they will give minimum 1 UN-restricted COS so there is no extra time required for that.

Secondly i would like to ask a question related to adding Tier2 General to my company SPONSOR system. HomeOffice already allocated my sponsor Tier2 ICT sponsor licence. We are regsitered sponsor for Tier2 ICT and assign Cos but we need to get Tier2 General now and quite fast...

Question is that how long will it take to add Tier2 General to our Sponsor system and will we have to repeat same process which was initially done for Tier2 ICT.

Please advise.
