psw dependent to tier 4 student visa

hello frns,

my head is heated up with so many mixed suggestions on my query and was told to register in this website to get right information.

Iam on PSW visa expiring in march 2013. my wife is on psw dependent. she wanted to pursue masters. she is in the country from july 2012.

1) can she switch over from psw dependent to tier 4 student visa with in the country or does she need to go back and apply from back home.

2) how much funds does i need to show and for what duration? with in country or from back home

3) do i need to go back to india to apply for her dependent?
