FLR (O) for the 10-year IRL partner?

Post by Amy_le » Fri Nov 23, 2012 2:22 pm

Hi. I have been in the UK for 6 years including 3 years in university. I got married last year and currently on a dependant visa with my husband.

He will apply for his Indefinite Leave to Remain in February 2013 since he has been here for 10 years already.

I understand that after he get his IRL, I can apply for my FLR visa and then after that, I can apply for IRL as well.

I assume my husband will have the IRL around August-September 2013 (6 months after the day he apply by post). Only then I can proceed with my visa (FLR, IRL, ect)

However, I wonder if I can go out of the UK in the next few months to work abroad (possibly in Asia) because it's very hard to get a job in the UK at the moment, and I am desparated to work. Will this affect my right of getting FLR or IRL visa or not? Please advise me how long I can leave the UK for? Do I need to stay with my husband all the time?

P/s: During 6 years of my stay in the UK, I had spent time abroad for several times, the total number of months are about 8-9 months.
