Tier 4 Maximum Stay ?

Post by amajid » Fri Nov 23, 2012 8:54 pm

Hi Forum,

I have question regarding the 8 year limit applied to Tier-4 stay in UK.
I have been told by my institution that currently students are allowed to study up to a maximum 3 years for courses below NQF/QCF Level 6 an

Code: Select all

d 5
years for courses abover NQF/QCF Level 6.

My study profile:

2006: Certificate course + Diploma (below NQL/QCF Level 6 ) 6 months
2007-2009: Bachelors degree (NQF/QCF Level 6) 2 years 6 months
2011-2012: Masters (NQF/QCF Level 7) 1 year

* For 2009-2011: Post Study Work.

So I have stayed a total of 6 + 30 + 12= 46 months = 4 years on my Students Visa (Tier-4). That means I can study a course of NQF/QCF Level 6 and above for a 1 year 6 months and a course below level 6 for 2 years and 6 months.

The question I want to ask is if this what I have been told applies or is it a mere confusion and I have used 4 years of my total allowed time I can spend in UK as a student which is either 5 years of 8 years.

I will highly appreciate and swift response.

Many Thanks in advance[/b][/code]
