flr m

Post by ks2012 » Sat Nov 24, 2012 12:26 am

Hi,

I am on ILR and was on tier 1 general before that.
However my wife could not pass life in uk test and currently on tier1 dependent visa.

I am planning to to apply via flr m for her but it sounds like that has some english requirement to fufill as well?

can please anybody advise if english is requirement or not?
if it is then how can I extend her visa.

please guide me and refer any link if possible.

many thanks.

thanks for the link
i have seen it and it says english is requirement but she has failed the test, that's why i wanted to apply for her FLR rather than ILR.

what else i can apply for her where english is not requirement please?

I will be really grateful..

She is required to pass an approved English test. You should check the UKBA website to see which level is required for FLR(M) and which are the approved centers at which she can give the test. Book in advance as place are limited.

Hi,

i applied for ilr on the basis of 5 years of work permit and then tier 1 general.

my wife is with me for nearly 5 years now as well but she could not pass life in uk test thats why i did not apply her ILR as my understanding was that there is no requirement of english for FLR so I can apply that for her.

but no it seems English is must for FLR as well..
and her tier 1 dependant visa is expiring on 8th december.

so my question is how I can extend her visa now as there is no way she will be able to pass english test now????? PLEASE HELP.

Have you made an effort to read the policy guidance (given on the same webpage where the application form is)?

i have read it and what i have understood is i would need to show £600 as funds but it also says if main applicant is on Tier 1
but I am on ILR and there is no mention of main applicant being on ILR
so thats why i am confused

Just follow what the policy guidance states - imagining that you are a PBS migrant still.
When it comes to filling up the form, use the same assumption.

Thanks for that Vinnay.

Well we are still waiting for the final decision on her Tier 1 to be precise,
but as she has passed her life in uk test now and I am hoping to apply for her ILR in either case ?
