Requested to become Sponsor for Aunt

Post by redrobbie » Sat Nov 24, 2012 11:52 pm

Hi All,

Hope you can help. My Aunt is looking to come and visit my family in the UK.

She is hoping to come on a Visa for 6 months. Her children (my cousins) unfortunately have been advised that their incomes are not enough by their immigration adviser for sponsoring their mother and they have approached me.

I have no problems in doing so but I just wanted to know are there any risks in me doing so?

Thanks in advance

No risks involved unless she abscond on arrival.

Questions might be asked why her own close family ( her kids in UK) cant sponsor her.

There is no requirement that the sponsor has to be earning mega amount. All they need to show that they can pay for the cost of her stay in the UK and that she will return back home before her visa runs out

Thank you for response.

The only reason why they have asked me is due to income. They have been told they need someone earning more than 18k by their solicitor?

I will be meeting him/her soon so I can ask my own questions. Is their anything in particular I should ask?

There is no requirement for them to be earning over £18K FOR VISITOR VISA.

That amount applies for spouse visa.Your solicitor has advised you incorrectly
