passport expiring

Hi I have ILR of Uk. I want to travel to india in January. But my Indian passport expires in May2013. Do I have to renew my passport to come back to Uk as it is less than 6 months to expire. Please guide me as soon as possible.
n.b. I have already applied for British citizenship.
