Work Permit - Umbrella company (Spam 8). BEST AVOIDED

Post by huqqapani » Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:43 pm

Respected forum members,

I have a work permit that runs out 19/12/12. Current employer is not looking to become sponsor and that doesnt leave me many options.

I have contacted Spam 8, they are willing to sponsor me on a contractor basis as i have been offered a position (from a company who also isnt sponsor) and they are taking 32% of what they will invoice the company.

I just wanted to ask you, is everything with this contractor arrangement LEGAL. I mean i only have 8 months left to apply for ILR. I really wish to know whether there are any risks that may cause me issues. I am not too bothered about the rates, i just want to make sure that there is nothing illegal in it from company's point of view and my personal immigration issue.

Please respond asap with your valuable contributions.

Hi

I think you can do better than Spam 8, and certainly much better than a 32% margin. I am assuming that as you have had a work permit for 4+ years you are suitably senior and can command good rates.

What are your skills?

Kind regards

James

Admin/moderators

Why has my forum title been changed? Just curious as to why it says BEST AVOIDED?

So that anyone searching by title in future does not see 'Umbrella company - Spam 8' and interpret it as an endorsement by immigration boards. Hence adding 'best avoided' to protect people

Hmm I don't like the sound of it. Have I said something in the title that I should have? Protecting people??? :-|
