Yearly Allocation

Post by thisisme86 » Wed Nov 28, 2012 5:10 pm

Hi All,

I am a new member and I would like to first of all thank you all for sharing your experiences/your queries/ your suggestions. This is really helpful.

I have q question regarding Tier-2 Sponsored Visa. My company has accepted to sponsor me for Tier-2 (General) visa. They are working with a law firm (which officially takes care of all the company's immigration requirements). When I discussed about the sponsored visa, my HR was told by UKBA that we (company) needs to renew the "YEarly Allocation". Is this same as the sponsorship license or is it the yearly allocation to be obtained from the Tier-1 user (Law Firm???).. ??

The Level (not Tier) 1 user operates the SMS for the company and can be either a staff member or a representative of the company, e.g. a lawyer.

Sponsor licences are only valid for 4 years and since the PBS started in Nov 2008 many of them are due for renewal now or shortly. UKBA are currently sending out reminders about the renewal. I expect this is what HR was referring to.

To assign a CoS to a migrant the company needs to have an available CoS allocation. If they haven't they have to apply for an increase in their allocation. Allocations are given for one year, April to April, but this has nothing to do with the sponsor licence renewal.

Hi Manci,

Yeah its Level-1 user... I just wrote it wrong. Your response was very useful.

I confirmed with my HR that our sponsorship license is not up for renewal until next June. Thats a relief.

Now the question is what actually is "Yearly Allocation"? is it something like the Level-1 user (which is the law firm) has to provide allocations to our company?
