Tier 1 (General) Visa Extension: PEO Appointment

Post by vivektier1 » Wed Nov 28, 2012 10:55 pm

Hi all,

My Tier 1 extension visa expires in March 2013.

I intend to use the same day PEO service. However, when I tried to book an appointment for Jan 2013 using the online service on the UKBA website it gives me a message that no dates/times are available. The centres I have tried are Croydon, Sheffield and Birmingham. The same applies for Feb 2012 as well.

Are people trying for appointments during that period facing similar problems or is there something that I am missing.

I would very much appreciate advise/guidance from members within the forum.

Thanks
Vivek

You can only book appointments upto 42 days in advance (Hence the reason you don't see any for Feb 2013, the earliest appointment you would find if you search today would be for 10th Jan 2013). Additionally new appointments are released at midnight and get booked very quickly, so would be worth logging in at that time to try if you haven't already done so.

You may also want to try searching between 9.45am - 11am as well. I've found appointments for SET(O) to be available when searching at this time, though can't comment on whether the same will apply for Tier 1 appointments. But is worth a try to see anyway.

This online appointment booking system is a terrible process. I have been trying to get an appointment for myself and 4 dependents for the last 3 weeks. Every week day midnight to around 1 am I have tried without any luck so far. Only once it showed up with appointments. When I was filling in the dependent details, time slot was gone.
There are many solicitor companies offering appointments with assistance in application forms. They guarantee appointments for your requirement. They asked me for £ 1200/= (minimum) for the service. This is way too much for me. Is this a money making operation between boarder agency and Solicitor companies?
Why can’t they do it like they used to do it over the phone? What about people with disabilities?
No fairness yet again. People go for the Premium service because of a valid reason for doing so. Not because we like paying extra.
