TB test for (second entry clearance) dependent visa?

Hi,

Dependent visa granted previously.
Lived in UK about 10 months.
But the visa is expired while the dependent is in India for maternity purposes.
Now applying for entry clearance again.
The dependent is out of UK for last 3 months.
Must the dependent take the TB test as per http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/count ... %20English?

Hi sushdmehta,

Isn't a returning UK resident exempted from the TB test ? I read in the guideline that a returning UK resident requires a TB test only if he has been out of UK for longer than 2 years.

Can you clarify the TB test requirement if someone is returning from UK (after being here for a year) and applies for a new entry clearance from india ?

UKBA's definition of returning residents:

A resident is someone who has been given permission to stay in the UK without any time limit. A returning resident is a resident who left the UK and wants to come back to live here again.

If in doubt, contact the local VAC / BHC.

Thanks for all the help. I can confirm that we had to get the TB test report for dependent visa application even though my wife was here in UK on tier2 for almost a year. This information may help others in confusion.
