Photograph Size

Hi Guys

can anyone confirm the photograph size please..

should it

measure 45mm x 35mm;

or

measure 51mm x 51mm;

I am kind of confused ..

The UKBA site says

45 x 35 but when i went to Jessops the guy said that size is not normal and i have to get 51 x 51

I've heard of the UKBA and the IPS, both of whom ask for 45 x 35; which is a universally available print size. Who, on the other hand, are Jessops?

2" x 2" (51mm) is common in the USA but I assume you are not applying for a US visa.

No certainly not

i was sure it was 45x35 but i wasn't sure since some of my friends who submitted student visa as well said they remember submitting a large square photo..

Is it a recent change ?
