Brazil to uk visit limitations? Please help...

Post by Hank83 » Fri Nov 30, 2012 2:37 am

Hi

Im hoping some guys here can help me understand some basic immigration rules regarding my Brazilian girlfriends future visits/stay in England.

I'm in a fairly new relationship With a Brazilian woman, Its got to a point where we want to be together as often a possible! So my questions are as follows....

Am I right in thinking that she can stay here in England for up to 6 with little or no trouble from uk immigration?

Another question is...If this is the case how long will she have to go back to Brazil for before here next visit again possibly for another 6 months?
Is this even possible?

Last question Is probably a question that's been asked here a thousand times, What will it require to have her stay here permanent?

I have heard She may need a "sponsor"? someone who will keep here her and prove a rather large amount of income somewhere like 20.000 pounds annually?

I am a uk citizen born and bread in England with a British passport...As You might tell I'm not very clued up when it comes to immigration and so i'm hoping one or two of You good folks here reading this might be able to shed a little light on a matter very close to my heart?

ANY help at all regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated Many thanks in advance..

Hank.

1. A non-visa national does not require entry clearance but may need to prove to the immigration officer at the landing port that he/she is a genuine visitor and will return before 6 months.
2. One may stay in UK as a visitor for 6 months in a given 12 month period.

For long term stay:
1. Tier 2 - requires a registered sponsor to sponsor employment in the UK.
2. Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) - requires £200,000 for investment in the UK.
3. Tier 4 (General) - to study at a registered educational institution in the UK.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Thank you for your reply.

How might she PROVE she is a genuine visitor and WILL return before the given 6 month period?
will things like an open job waiting for her in brazil for when she returns?
What other things might help us PROVE her stay here?

Am I right then to say that after a stay in the uk for up to 6 months she can return to brazil for the remaining 6 months of the year and then return AGAIN after this period of time is up?

Will it be ok to spend 6 months of Every year here with myself?
Is there some sort of limitation as to how many times this can happen in a given period?

(Thanks for the links u posted ill be sure to look at this in greater detail.)

Question...Long term stay Tier 2. If she was to receive a offer of employment here in the uk this would satisfy uk immigration greatly improving our chances or being together?

Sorry for all the questions. I really have lots to learn...

Thanks again.

1. Strong ties to the country of citizenship / residence (e.g. - job, family, assets, investments etc.).
2. Yes.
3. She may do it (returning every year) repeatedly, as long as she can convince the IO that she is a genuine visitor every time she comes in.
4. To enter as a Tier 2 migrant, one requires a certificate of sponsorship from a registered sponsor, evidence of English language proficiency, and £800 held of 3 months. More details are available in the link provided earlier.

Thanks for your help..

I'm hoping if she visits here for 6 months every year this alone maybe will prove her legitimacy in visits.. I mean if the immigration were to see she has visited here before a few times before and abide by the rules this is good right?

I will read through those links you mentioned

Thanks for your help.
