Does change of employment affect the application?

Post by londres-rahel » Sat Dec 01, 2012 12:48 pm

Me and my husband put in our EEA2 application a week ago and I've been working as a waitress for almost half a year so everything seems to be fine so far. But now I've heard at my work place, that they always try to get rid of staff after the busy Christmas time. I would have other options for a new job if I lost my current one but I'm concerned about my application. Would a loss of my job and a change of employment affect the EEA2 application? I hope someone can help me with this inquiry as I really dont want my application to be refused. Thanx a lot.

You both made an EEA2 application? Who is the EU citizen?

You need to be one of the following:
(1) working
(2) actively looking for work
(3) self-sufficient with CSI
(4) a student

You are presently (1)
If you get laid off, then it is fine to be (2).
Keep records of what jobs you applied for, along with any documentary evidence. You should likely also apply at a job centre. I believe it is also fine to receive jobseekers allowance from the government.
