Joint Bank Statement as proof of assets

Dear boarders,

I am applying for the general visit visa for my mother. Can I provide the bank account statment in India, which is my and her joint name as a proof of her assets in India?

Would this be considered as her money (asset) or not? I have not made any transactions in this accounts and she only uses it.
