When is it best to send in renewal application?

Post by gEEDAY » Tue Dec 04, 2012 7:24 am

Hello,

My Tier1 General Visa is due to expire on 31st Jan 2013.
Wanted to know when its the best time to send in my renewal application. is it now, or last week in december 2012 or 1st week in january 2013?.

Also, do i post it to the visa office or do i have to book appointment to go and submit it face to face.

Thanks for your responses

you can post any time, but its been advise to do it before or in 28 days.

you don't need to go to submit the form, you need to send to the mentioned address by special delivery

Post by Asad chaudary » Tue Dec 04, 2012 12:27 pm

Hi ,
My tier 1 general visa expiring on the 24th of feb 2013..
What is earliest date I can book an appointment for??
As I read it somewhere that booking too early can have an effect on settlement visa afterwards . Thanks

My suggestion: get a PEO apt.
Postal is too stressful.
If there are problems, u may not get time to react.

self employed taxing

Post by gEEDAY » Mon Dec 10, 2012 11:12 pm

Thanks Askhan for your response. really really appreciate it

Can I ask another question with this scenario please?

Take for example,
I need 45k to renew my visa, and I am both salaried and self employed.
If I have earned 20k as salary for the period of 12 months leaving an outstanding of 25k that should come from my self employed. Lets also assume I have earned the remaining 25k from self employed and my running expenses is at 10k

Question:
1. Am I expected to pay the full tax on the 25k from self employed or
2. Am I expected to pay the tax after deducting my 10k running expenses? (i.e, pay tax on 15k only)
3. If I pay tax on 15k only, would they still consider that I earned a total of 45k before tax or would they consider that i have earned on 35k?

I know this sounds complicated but please air your ideas and what you feel is ideal.

Thank you so much..again in advance![/u]

you pay tax on profit, which is calculated after deducting your expence

total earning : 10K
expense: 1K

net profit: 9k

you need to pay tax on 9k and home office will count 9K as your earning not 10K

2. Am I expected to pay the tax after deducting my 10k running expenses? (i.e, pay tax on 15k only)

yes

yes home office will count your total earning as 35K

many thanks for the confirmation

so, am aware i am required to remit the first part of tax between feb 2012 and april 5th 2012 (been that i registered my self employed in feb 2012)

what am not sure of is, since am due to apply 1st week in january 2013, and this present tax year ends april 2013, am i supposed to still file in my tax from april 6th 2012 - dec 2012 before submitting my application or i must only file in the tax after the tax year end in april 2013.

will this delay my application been processed in anyway?
is it possible they grant me the application and expect me to file my tax after april 5th 2013?
