ILR from India?

Hi All

I came to UK in Jan 2008 and now will be elligible for ILR in next few weeks. My Spouse went to india for holidays last month and will stay there until next month. My question is -


I can apply for ILR in person from here and then is it possible for my spouse (and the new born baby) to apply ILR from India or do they need to first come to UK and then only we can apply for ILR?

Reason behind is My baby was born here and travelled back to India without UK visa and now a Tier1 dependent visa needs to be applied for my baby so I was thinking we could directly apply for ILR rather spending money or tier1 dependent? My spouse was here since ever so I think two years stay condition is fulfilled.

Please reply if you can answer?
