HSBC Bank Statement

Post by hham1224 » Fri Dec 07, 2012 2:19 pm

Dear All,

I have received the HSBC (Pakistani Branch) letter for £50K funds. But the Bank Manager has forgotten to write on the Bank letter that HSBC in Pakistan is regulated by State Bank Of Pakistan. While you know HSBC in Pakistan is authorised and regulated by State Bank of Pakistan.

Does not writing on the letter would make any difference?

Best Wishes,

Everybody knows HSBC is an international bank, but my recommendation would be not to give a chance to HO to make a silly mistake. Always follow the exact letter format mentioned in the policy guidance.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

If I submit this statement (without this line that HSBC is regulated by State Bank of Pakistan while in fact it is regulated and authorised by the State Bank of Pakistan) and ask the bank manager to reissue another letter with all the above details in the letter. If UKBA asks for the letter after I submit my application then I will send the amended bank letter.

I am only doing this to avoid any new implications with change in immigration rules on 13 December 2012.

What is your opinion on this? I am in PSW and I wont get the amended letter until 12 December 2012 due to this week end.

If you are on PSW, why are you worried about 12December rules? I don't think, those rules affect PSW badly. But it majorly affects Tier-4 applicants.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I think you are right by saying that the new rules from 13 December 2012 wont affect the PSW holder very much.

My question was about submitting the current HSBC letter now and would submit the amended letter if UKBA will request as policy guidance says that UKBA will now request any information which is in the wrong format or where a sequence of information is missing.

Can I submit the current HSBC letter or wait for the amended letter (14 to 20 working days)

Dear All,

I need urgent help on this ASAP. Just came to know that HSBC in Paksitan is regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (Channel Islands) NOT the State Bank of Pakistan.

Does this make any difference? Please reply ASAP

Please help on this ASAP. I have checked the list on the state Bank of Pakistan website. HSBC Pakistan's operation is there on the list. I have taken a printout of the site and will attach in my application.

But the thing which confuses me is that HSBC is neither in the Bank List of Pakistan which UKBA accepts NOR in the rejection list. What Should I do?

The list can be found on

You must not take risk. Its better to arrange a new letter and follow the instructions in Policy guidance.

They will check from central bank's (State bank of Pakistan) website that if HSBC is list of foreign banks. And HSBC is there.

http://www.sbp.org.pk/f_links/index.asp

And to make it more stronger, you can ask HSBC manager to mention that HSBC is also registered with Financial services authorities in UK.

I have the same problem my bank name is State Bank of India and they have refused to issue later which ukba has recomended and said that state bank of india itself suggest that we are a nationalized bank regulated under the regulated body. And has issued the letter in their own format in which it doesnt show that it is regulated by gov. But I have seen in the policy guide line that ukba will check from their own whether the bank is regulated by authorized body or not. So the letter should be fine. After all what will I do if Bank manager is strongly not writing down the format which ukba is requiring?
