HSMP Fees as UK postal Order - Valid Postal Stamp?

HSMP Fees as UK postal Order - Valid Postal Stamp?

In the guidance notes, it is mentioned that the postal order should contain a valid postal stamp.

I purchased two postal orders (GBP250 + GBP 85). The post office has entered the date, but did not put the postal stamp. When I reminded them about the stamp, they told me that the new postal orders (looks like a cheque) do not require post office stamp.

Can anyone please comment?
