Applying through solicitor or self is good?

Post by therock » Mon Dec 10, 2012 10:56 pm

Hi,

I need your guys expert advice. I have very good experience in this Tier 1 (E) Category D. In fact, I have much better knowledge of this category than the solicitor

My solicitor is insisting that it's good to apply through a solicitor by putting his letter-headed document or something.

What are your guys opinions on this?

Many Thanks in advance.

It does not make any difference, unless he has a valid reason to share with us as well. Putting on a letter will make a difference in terms of explaining the case nicely as that's what they are good at, but yea, if you have the right things enclosed in the application along with the format that UKBA as listed in, than there should not be any reason to differentiate.
All the best!

Hi,

if you have all the paperwork in place the way it should be than you dont need to waste money on solicitors and consultant ..... if you know what documents you need and you have got all of them and if you are confident on what you have prepared than there is no point wasting £££££ (unless you have extra to waste :)

I have done everything myself (registering business, money in account, tax registration, marketing material etc etc) and i also spoke to couple of solicitors and consultant and they get offended and upset whn i told them that i have done everything and i just want to confirm that do i need declaration as i m applying with entrepreneur team etc and money is held in uk bank ) so besically he had nothing to tell me as i have done everything myself so he gave me almost same answer that its good to attach a solicitor letter etc .....

which in my opinion doesn't make any difference at all but i personally think no one can prepare better file of your own case. (if you study guidance and follow it all the way)

so good luck with your application and if you need any help and advise than you have this forum post a question and get an advise from people.

and if you need any help from me or they way i am doing my file i am more than happy to help you or anyone else.

regards

Rehan

I don't think it really matters. If you can commute in good English and are confident enough with your application form than you dont need a solicitor and you can write a covering letter yourself. If still confused then get your file checked by some adviser they may charge £50-£100.
