Can Students apply with £200,000 instead of £50,000?

Post by niomi » Mon Dec 10, 2012 11:07 pm

I am on a Tier 4 Student visa and wish to apply for a Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa using personal funds of £200,000. They are not from a UK-regulated body or anything like the £50,000 required for PSW visa holders.

On the Dec 13 policy guidelines (which have changed recently) it looks like they have further specified that this is NOT OK for Tier 4 student visa holders. I cannot just have the personal funds of £200,000. Is anyone else knowledgeable about this? Am I still eligible to apply for this visa?

You cannot apply under 200K to switch in-country any more without having to leave the UK . You need 50k from an approved source to switch in-country from T4 to T1.

Hope this helps.
