Do I need professional assistance?

Post by physicskate » Tue Dec 11, 2012 7:31 am

Dear all,

This has been quite a journey. I was hired by a new school in April. They received Sponsorship a week ago. They have received their log-on details for the SMS and will be issuing me a CoS today and I plan on posting my application tomorrow. Hurray!!

The sticking point is that I left my previous school at the end of August, and I am afraid that the four month gap will create something of an issue for my application. My visa was previously Tier 2 (valid until August 2014), has NOT been curtailed. I have several quotes from professionals, but I am not entirely sure professional assistance is necessary as I have handled all of my own visa issues for the past 8 1/2 years.

What does anyone else think?

Hi PhysicsKate,

Could you please let me know how you got it confirmed that ur visa was not curtailed? Did you confirm it from UKBA? I am in a similar situation.

UKBA always had my contact details and they were never in touch! I reckon my previous employer had not done the job of informing them I had left...

I was just successfully granted my new tier 1. I left my previous job at the end of August and applied Dec 12 - a gap of 3 1/2 months. Before ILR I will be applying for a SAR to see if there is a recorded gap, but in the meantime, there were no problems getting a new Tier 2.
